Evaluation Question 2: How effective is the combination of my main product and ancillary products?

                                                 Evaluation Question 2

The role of a film distributor is very important. The film distributor can play a huge factor in a film's success.
Distributors control the marketing and circulation of movies in theatres and also home viewing (DVD, pay-per-view, television rights, etc.). Ultimately the film itself is the biggest factor in whether or not a film is successful, but the distribution is nearly as important.
Distributors decide how much the film should be advertised (TV commercials, internet, magazine, posters, trailers, special promos, etc.) - this is crucial for the film because it gets the word out there and gets people interested in it. The distributor usually arranges industry screenings for exhibitors, and uses other marketing techniques that will make the exhibitor believe they will profit financially by showing the film.

They also decide how many theatres in the film will show in and for how long, thus how much money it can be allowed to make during its theatrical run. Distributors ensure their physical delivery to the theater by the opening day, monitor exhibitors to make sure the film is in fact shown in the particular theatre with the minimum number of seats and show times, and ensure the prints' return to the distributor's office or other storage resource also on the contract-based return date.
Film distributors are even more important for small, independent films because they are less known and usually dont contain the big name stars that studio pictures do therefore it is crucial for the word to get out on them. This is why film festivals like Sundance are so important because that is where these films are bought by distributors.

We decided to certificate the film 15 because although its not really scary, there is some gory elements which we thought would only be suitable for persons over the age of 15.
I decided to use all three main character form the trailer on the poster because this automatically lets people know that theyre going to be the three main characters and its also an introduciton to the characters. People usually see posters before they see trailers so theyre already aware of the character isn the film. The cracked effect on thir skin also lets audience know that something bad is going to happen to these three girls and theyre going to be broken down. I stuck with the typical horror convetions by usuing the typical horror colours; Black and red. These colours add tension and effect to the poster which is what I wanted. The font of the title looks quite horrorish and eerie so thats why I decided to use this particular font.
I didnt really get inspiration from other existing horror posters. I wanted to create the cracked affect on the models faces because i wanted to show that somehow the characters are going to be cracked and broken down so i used a tutorial on YouTube to learn how to create that cracked effect.
